The Windows team is delighted to announce its same first, developer ready, non-expiring (licensed) virtual machines. The Windows team said that constant entreaties from users for a complete Windows 10 development app persuaded them to make this decision:

"Last year, we released the valuation VMs and we took the feedback to heart that you wanted a to the full configured Windows 10 development environment that won't expire." as stated in Windows blog.

The new VMs grant users to insert their Windows 10 Pro license key and get coding and relieves users from the hassle of downloading additional tools for developing apps. The Virtual Machines are introduced in Hyper-V, Parallels, VirtualBox, and put in several flavors:

  • Windows 10 Pro, Version 1607

  • Visual Studio 2015 Community Update 3 (Ramp up 14.0.25425.01)

  • Windows developer SDK and tools (Body-build 14393)

  • Microsoft Chromatic SDK for .NET (Build 2.9.5)

  • Windows Bridge for iOS (Build 0.2.160914)

  • Windows UWP samples (September 2016)

  • Windows Bridge for iOS samples

  • Bash for Windows

For users WHO don't own a Windows 10 Pro license and still want the Windows 10 and UWP go through, they can get the free evaluation variation of the VMs which expire afterwards a pre-unregenerate span of time. You can make the Windows 10 Pro license here.
